The Trail Running Film Festival is thrilled to announce that Simone Martin-Newberry, a visionary artist, digital illustrator, and essayist, has been selected as the 2025 Poster Artist.
Simone’s work, characterized by vivid, color-rich environments, places bodies of color at the forefront of artistic narratives, exploring themes of belonging and identity. Her artwork seeks to uncover and create spaces where black bodies can exist freely and abundantly, envisioning worlds where color is celebrated as the norm rather than an exception. Through her unique perspective, she brings a fresh and profound vision that resonates deeply with the festival’s mission to foster inclusivity and representation in the outdoors.
Simone’s talent has earned her a diverse portfolio of commercial work commissioned and featured by prominent publications and institutions, including The New York Times, The Guardian US, Emergence Magazine, Chronicle Books, and Random House. Her life as an artist has spanned Los Angeles and Chicago, and she has since embarked on a life of travel, currently calling the open road her home.
