Trail Running Film Festival Under New Ownership

Olympia, Washington – January 5, 2026— Outdoor Arts and Recreation, a Washington-based nonprofit organization, today announced that its Board of Directors has voted to transition its longstanding program the Trail Running Film Festival to continue operating as a for-profit venture under the new parent company Einmaleins and its newly founded production company trail.run.film Productions. The Festival’s mission of celebrating trail running, outdoor culture, and storytelling will continue uninterrupted, though it will no longer operate as a nonprofit organization.

“On behalf of the organization, I want to express my deep appreciation to the Board of Directors for their guidance, dedication, and stewardship over the years,” said Mathias Eichler, Executive Director of Outdoor Arts and Recreation. “Their support has been instrumental in building the Trail Running Film Festival into what it is today. I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and confident that this transition will allow the Festival to grow sustainably while continuing to serve the trail running community. Operations will continue seamlessly throughout this transition.”

The transition process will be completed in compliance with all applicable state and federal requirements, including the satisfaction of all outstanding obligations and the proper disposition of assets. Assets associated with the Trail Running Film Festival will be transferred to Einmaleins as permitted by law. Required filings and notifications will be completed with the Washington Secretary of State, the Washington State Attorney General, and the Internal Revenue Service.

No disruption to scheduled Trail Running Film Festival programming, events, or tours is anticipated.
