CALLING ALL ARTISTS

Outdoor Arts and Recreation and the Trail Running Film Festival are commissioning a new, original work of art to be featured on the poster for our upcoming 2026 Global Tour and on other merchandise supporting our Festival.

What we're looking for:

A custom piece of art representing our mission and speaking to the global trail running community.

What we offer:

The selected artist will receive US$1,000 for a commissioned original piece of new work.
We will highlight the artist on social media, email newsletter and press announcements.
The work will become the property of Outdoor Arts and Recreation and the Trail Running Film Festival works collection. Each work will appear on various print and web publications.
The artist will assign to Outdoor Arts and Recreation all rights to future reproduction of work for promotional and fundraising purposes.
The artwork will be used by the Film Festival hosts and partners who are third parties connected to the Festival and may be used on items such as shirts, merchandise, banners etc.
Of note: No need to create a poster design before you’re selected. Submissions are based on your past portfolio work.
No AI generated art will be accepted - duh.

Once selected, commissioned work must be formatted to fit a poster design. Artists will provide the original artwork unframed and also a digital copy to be used as the poster and on marketing materials.

We will cover material cost (up to $200) and shipping expenses.

Who should apply

We're looking for visual artists working in any medium that will make an amazing poster for our upcoming tour. You can be a digital or fine artist.

Poster Design

Film posters are vertical. We will work with you on the final dimensions but the poster needs to include space for location/date/etc. This information does not have to be included in the artwork.
